Our team is made up of an entrepreneurial mindset, experience, commitment, and always thinking about the future.
Simba co-founded BAKO in 2017 and serves as the company’s Managing Director and Lead Architect and Creative. He has over 16 years’ experience and as principal architect he is responsible for BAKO’s creative and architectural portfolio. Simba graduated Summa cum Laude and holds Master’s, Honours and Bachelor’s degrees in Architecture. He is also an Accredited Green Star Professional and a Lifetime Member of the Golden Key International Honorary Society.

James serves as BAKO’s Strategy Director and Business Advisor. He oversees the development and execution of BAKO’s business strategy, supporting the firm’s business development initiatives and managing the company’s contracting, finance and accounting and compliance portfolios. James is a member of the Institute of Directors of South Africa and holds MBA, MCom in Programme Evaluation and BSc (Honours) in Natural Resources Management degrees (cum Laude).

Strategy Director
Tamara graduated from the University of Johannesburg and holds a Bachelor’s degrees in Architecture. She is a creative with a high standard of work and ethics. Tamara has a strong conceptual and technical understanding. She excels in 3D-modelling and is skilled across many software packages, including Revit, AutoCAD, PhotoShop, Enscape and Rhino.

BAKO offers a full year internship that exposes our interns to end-to-end design and architecture projects. At BAKO, we encourage our interns to find their voice, broaden their thinking and bring their ideas to the table. This approach, we believe will enable us to find better ways to solving tomorrow’s problems using younger, dynamic minds.
BAKO is a collective of architects, designers, engineers, and planners that applies out-of-the-box thinking, to deliver unique, cost-effective environmentally sustainable exterior and interior building solutions.
